Most of you probably heard about Thornton's hilarious defense of Tomas Hertl's celebration the other night. If you haven't, check it out here:
http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/10/10/canucks-vs-hertl-gameday-what-we-learned/

There was then some backlash about whether or not Botchford should have published this at all, as what Thornton said was simply locker room banter and should have been considered "off the record". There were about 20 reporters in the room with cameras and voice recorders, etc. and none of them took this as a story except for Jason Botchford (who, by the way, I'm not a fan of).

Botchford then took some heat and appeared on TSN to defend his actions and came up with this official defense:
http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/10/10/the-joe-thornton-story-hilarious-and-on-the-record/

So, should Botchford have published this story? I think it's pretty unprofessional, personally, and don't think he should have taken this as a story. Later in the day Thornton said he didn't care that what he said came out, but still pretty bush-league by Botchford IMO.

Thoughts?

I already Answered this on nex lol

Short answer: no, i think hes a butthurt canucks homer, he hears the same or worse in locker rooms everyday, yet chose to take a run at thornton bcuz his butt is still hurting, which no other reporter in the scrum did bcuz they arent all tools

Besides if anything it just made me think more highly of joe thornton

No. No hockey player says shit like this thinking it's gonna be actually put to paper.

Thornton is a fucking boss though.
