I'm as happy as I could be with a loss, we had a terrible first period, but I think we outplayed the Ducks for most of the second and third, Fasth was awesome tonight. We were gritty and we gave them a tough fight, couldn't be upset with the team, the fact that it took 6 games for us to lsoe in regulation makes me really happy lol.

They said during the game highlights on TSN that CGY has lost like 18 of their last 19 in Anaheim or something insane like that.

Also i dont think monahan should be sent down, theres no benifet to his development to spend another year in junior, he's going to make his share of mistakes defensively just like any other rookie, it's the same with reilly, theyre just too good to play in junior still. I liked what the panel was discussing during intermission, there really should be an option for these guys to go to the ahl sooner

Yea, Monahan has nothing left to work on and improve in Junior. He needs to play against men and get better.

From the standpoint of a GM, it would make sense to send him down just to push back his UFA status for another year (which is the point Bob mentioned). But I think you have to keep the kid on the team, he can clearly play at this level and is too good for junior.

The problem with sending him down to delay his entry level deal is that he played his way onto the team, and into a roster spot. We're trying to create a new culture of hard work and passion, and giving it everything and lettign the people who play well and hard earn the time. What kind of message would it send to the team, and other potential free agents, if the Flames take Monahan, who has earned his spot on the team, and then we send him down so we don't have to pay him when we're not a super competitive team.

I think that would severely damage the organization. As it is, a lot of players do consider Calgary as a possible destination more so than some other lower end teams.

Did he? I could have sworn he had an assist that game, at least that it was initially called as such, could've been changed, or maybe I was just wrong, but yeah, thought he had an assist. Oh well lol
